1st Credit contact after IVA

Options
Hi all,
got phone call and then letter from 1st Credit, claiming settlement of a credit card from Opus (formerly Citi) this has been assigned to the dca even though it was settled on my IVA 2years ago !

How can I get them to believe me? Opus had agreed in writing that the account should be marked settled with the credit agencies, but then removed this status from my credit report. I am anxious to have this resolved as all my other accounts were marked settled.

Any views/help is much appreciated

I believe that sending a copy of the chairman's report and completion certificate should be sufficient prove that the debt has been settled.

Are Opus still showing as an active creditor on your credit report even though you've completed your iva? Have your debts included in your iva dropped off your credit report now?
Roll on DFD, final payment 1st October 2017
  • Appreciate your reply, Opus is down as an active account, while the others on the IVA are marked closed with status as settled.

These are still on the report as the the arrangement was a full and final one off payment into the IVA, so the settled accounts still show for another 3 years.

I have taken a complaint against Opus with the Financial Ombusman as their record keeping must be shocking to say the least.

I would like to hear of any other experiences any others have had with Opus
  • As a follow up to this the Ombudsman has agreed my complaint against Opus for having my account wrongly in default. They are to update the credit reference agency and pay me £50 for my "distress"!

Fifty notes for making a few calls and writing a couple of letters - good result.
