Responsibilities of airport car parking services.

We are looking to use one of these hotel + parking deals at Manchester airport and we concerned what are the responsibilities of the hotel you book with for your vehicle once you leave it in their care. They sub-contract the parking out. The hotel in particular is Bewleys and they state in their FAQ section “Vehicles moved off site to secure location. Approx 25 mile round trip. This service is sub-contracted to Hotel Secure Parking Limited whose terms and conditions are available upon request by emailing the hotel.”

Does the hotel have a duty of care to ensure that this is a reputable company they have awarded this contract to and to ensure that they have adequate insurance cover for their drivers. We have the horrible image of the vehicle just being parked on a street or somebody having a lovely time in out car for a fortnight and then bringing it back with damage and not being liable for it. Any information on the laws/legal situation when you give your car over in these circumstances would appreciated.

  • We use chauffeur parking all the time at Manchester Airport and both services we use are great and the cars are stored undercover in secure warehouses. I would suspect that Bewley's will have done there homework on this company and they will have all the correct insurances etc, so I would be reasonably confident that leaving the car with them will be fine.

You should Google the parking company and see if they have a park-mark awarded and if they are using some of the online airport parking brokering services and check out the reviews of this company.
