Working Tax credits, is there any other benefits I can claim ?

Hi my husband has had one of the worst years ever as far as work goes, (self employed).
We have just had a tax credit letter saying we will now get Working Tax Credit & never had this before, only child tax credit.
I have 3 children all at school, is there anything else that I can claim ?

Working tax credit usually wipes out any eligibility for free school meals.

Presumably you get child benefit? You say you already get child tax credits.

Are you a tenant? If so, you could see if you are eligible for housing benefit. Also, you could check for council tax discount and CTC if you don't claim it already.

You could put the details into the benefit calculator on the Turn 2 us website.

Hi there thanks for the help, I will check out the Benefit calculator & Turn 2 us.
I do already work myself (16 hours per week) but I have a disabled child that I care for, so really wouldn't want to up my hours if I don't have to. I am also hoping that things will be better for my husband as the year goes by, then we will be fine again.
