Replacing an asbestos garage

Options
Hello, :j :j can any one help please?

We have an asbestos garage, which also has an asbestos shed attached to the back of it. We're looking at replacing both with, making a brick (blocks) building. It will still be the same size (maybe slightly wider), but will be put in the same position as it currently is.

Does that mean we have to look at getting planning permission as we are simply replacing something that's already there or, because it's close to the boundary and within about 6 foot of next door's house (although they have a 6' high fence up) we would need to get pp?

Any advice greatfully received!

you may require PP cause you are building in brick. the original garage may never had/needed PP as it was classed as a temporary structure.
after all that, if the previous garage has been there for 20 yrs then any PP should be a simple formality.
ask at the local council offices for advice, they are normally pretty good at helping homeowners.
    Get some gorm.
