Up to 30% better insulating properties than normal glass units.
Nowadays you don't have a choice on installing K glass in new windows. Due to changes in the building regs (part L) All new windows HAVE to be glazed using K units. If you are only changing the glass in in your existing frames, then this doesn't apply. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

.........which could be money saving.
You can leave it longer between washing your nets.......because everyone will assume that it's the K glass making your nets look dingy.........whereas you'll know that it's just that they're really dirty.:DI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the 'I wanna' and 'In my home' and Health & Beauty'' boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. How can you tell if a window is fitted the wrong way round with the kglass on the wrong side without a meter that building inspectors use? I suspect I have one window 'back to front'.0

This is unusual. When 'k' units are made, they are always finished off with a sticker on the side of the 'k' glass to show which side is glazed on the inside.
What makes you think one of them is wrong? Is it because there is a slight colour difference in one unit? There could be another explanation.
Pilkington 'k' glass is a brand name. There is an alternative glass that can be used in units. We all know it as 'soft coat'. It's an alternative low emission glass from Saint-Gobain Solaglas. There is a slight colour difference between these 2 types. If one unit has been replaced by the other type, you will notice the difference.
There has been clever marketing from Pilks (Pilkington) over this glass. It's only been recently that everyone has called this type of glass 'k'. When it first came out. All these types of glass were known as 'low-e'. You had soft coat from solaglass and hard coat from pilks. Now because of the marketing from pilks everyone thinks that a unit can only be made from 'k' glass which is their product. Both types comply with the current building regs. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

My brother-in-law fitted the windows with all the stickers facing the right way, however, the building inspector said the glass in one opening casement was the wrong way round and the sticker must have been put on wrongly. He also said it needed to open wider for fire escape. My b-in-law replaced the hinges but my wife peeled the stickers off the windows and then he couldn't remember if he'd turned the glass round. The inspector came out again, was happy with the hinges, but his light meter wouldn't work. He said as long as the glass had been turned he would issue the certificate, which he did.
So now nobody is sure - sometimes it may look slightly different from the others but it could be imagination.
Does it really make any difference anyway?0
