No one has to use the Universal Jobsmatch site to record their job searches. All you have to do is show you are actively searching for work and you can record it in any way you want. No one can compel you to allow your advisor to view your pages and you must not give your gateway number to anyone as it is your personal data.
The UJ is a huge failure...whilst you have to enter gateway number and password, the 'employers' are not verified and basically can be any Tom,!!!!!! or Harry and often are. Jobs are hijacked from the more reputable sites often from their archives so jobs don't actually exist.
Register with reputable employment agencies instead, keep your e-mails and communications with them and take them in with you when you see your advisor.
Also check the memo ...sorry I don't have the link from the Public and Communication Services Union on the 17th Jan when this was outlined to members working in Job centres. Don't be intimidated..most of us have paid enough contributions in Tax and national insurance and they keep these people in employment.

    Indeed are getting bad too

I have emails sent to me so you click the link to a job that may sound good and then you see it says advertised on UJM so click another link to that site then the advert says advertised on CV Libarary so click the link in the advert on UJM taking you to another site where it then says it on another site.

    ARGH!!!!!

But this thread is not about whether or not they use it

Whether they use it or not - I frankly dont care

But I have to teach them how to use "Universal Jobmatch"

So I can't dismiss it out of hand
When will the "Edit" and "Quote" button get fixed on the mobile web interface?

Who is telling you that you have to teach them how to use it? Also who needs teaching how to use it?

Colour me slow, but what does this mean? That the Job warehouse is stealing job descriptions from other websites and posting them on their own, or something completely different?

Already mentioned that I am indirectly contracted by JCP to teach JCP clients how to use this crummy system (as well as other stuff)

Hence my post about it's technical issues and possible solution - which doesn't include using something else :D

but come job search day - they cant find it, forgot it and cant remember it - or some of them a so clever they dont keep it because they can remember about 80% of it which they think should be enough :( and they type/remember their passwords words wrong & for confidentiality my company wont let me record passwords - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
But those that search seem to have no problems? And those that don't do...

February the 18th isn't such a long way away :-)

IApparently the fact that i had been using other sites to make applications, or asking in person for work, won't be accepted as proof i'm seeking work.
    Of course it will?

This was in reply I think to someone saying they the JC say you have to only use the UJM and other sites were not going to be proof they were looking for a job

So my reply was are they (the JC) seriously saying that all the jobs in the UK are posted on there? I think not!

No idea what your reply is about - word document??????
