Switching Suppliers
Options
Hi everyone,
Need some help..probably a noddy question.!!
I’ve got April bills off Southern Electric for Gas - £175.19 and Electricity - £87.30
I rang them up to talk about paying the bills by direct debit and continuing to pay by direct debit (we normally just pay when the quarterly bills come in..)
They’ve quoted me £48 per month for Gas and £36 for electric.
Now looking at Uswitch, Southern Elec are no longer my cheapest supplier (BG are, but I’m not going with them due to many problems I’ve had with them in the past…but NPower are only £5 a year more then BG and £150 less than SE), but would I be able to switch with Npower now and include the bill I owe Southern Electric or would I have to settle Southern Electrics bill before I can switch.!??!
Thanks for any help…

You couldn't transfer the bill, and until it's paid your current provider may block your transfer from going through.0

thanks for the responses...
i kind of figured that would be the case...i'm assuming they've included the oustanding balance in the DD estimates for the year, hence why they seem alot more than other estimates.
think i'll pay them off in full and go with NPower.
thanks again.0 -
