payday loans, unauthorised broker payment

  • If the broker's charges were not made clear on the website the OP has a valid complaint against it. (Or that it would pass his details on to somebody else).

He can complain to the broker and if necessary to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Whether he would get anywhere would depend on if the Financial Ombudsman Service agreed it was misleading.

    You must have an opinion.
  • If you google loan options or loans.net complaint pages you will find lots of other people have been caught out like me. We didnt go onto the main site where the t and c's are, but our details were re directed through these companies and we were signed up without realising.

Christmas and new year didnt kill me off, I budgeted very well throughout, it was the pet emergency that wiped me on the 6th of jan. I only actually needed £100 to get me through till payday after paying the £550, so a payday loan was very manageable until this happened.

I have alreadly been refunded and changed my card details, and I was posting to try and point others in my situation in the direction of their bank for assistance rather than have to pawn items and be worried.

I was not looking for tea and sympathy or a drag across the coals.

And yes, I do consider my lesson learnt!
