Getting rid of TEXT ENHANCE

I'm getting underlining on most websites looking like links. When clicked it's a get rich quick type of ad, or ads for iphone 5 etc.

The words TEXT ENHANCE very briefly appear.

Please does anyone know how to get rid of the text Enhance? Thanks

It's a browser add-on, so which browser are you using?

It'll be an extension then.

Either disable them all, then re-enable them one by one till you find the one causing the problem.

Or, post me an OTL log. This will show your chrome extensions.

Download OTL by Old Timer from the link below and save it to your Desktop.

• Double click on OTL.exe to run it.
• Click the Quick Scan button.
• When it's finished , two Notepad files will open.
  • OTL.txt <-- Will be opened
  • Extras.txt <-- Will be minimized
• Please post the contents of OTL.txt in your next reply.

You may have to split the contents of the notepad file over multiple posts.

Oh my God...what's an OTL log? I don't understand all this at all. I think my grandsons would have more idea than I have!

Text-enhance is a way of earning the developers of software some cash. They partner with all kinds of different software, so it's hard to say "uninstall x,y or z" without really knowing what's on your system - I'd just be guessing.

OTL is a way of producing a diagnostic log that would show this information.

ok I looked at the chrome menu symbol, then tools, then extensions. All that came up was StartNow with like a start button, not clickable. A check box saying Allow Incognito. Another check box ticked and saying Enabled. Installed by 3rd party. Configure commands.

Then when I go to configure commands it says StartNow activate extension.

Any idea what all that means, waddler? Thanks

Do you see a checked box - enabled - and a dustbin symbol to the right of StartNow?

Click the checked box to uncheck it, then close and restart chrome - it should then be disabled.

Do the text-enhance ad's stop?

Oh my God waddler! You are a genius! Thanks so much for this...the text enhance really has disappeared!

It's been driving me mad for ages and I'm just so delighted to have shifted it.
