    Cheers guys,

Not taken the wrong way at all so thank you!

Guess I'm just nieve about all of this so was looking for some reassurance! I guess my case isnt different and I will continue to ignore!

One of my links was to the whole letter-chain to expect. Just play snap with each template letter and show them to your colleagues as well, I do!

A lot of these letter chains seem to be extended over longer and longer periods.

What this means, of course, is that life in PPC-Land must be getting more and more desperate.

    This is a good thing!

  • Good evening,

I have a "PCN" from VCS Ltd, for waiting in a "No stopping" area near to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

This letter has 2 photographs taken at night of the rear of the vehicle and one of the front, as the vehicle subsequently went past the car and pointed its camera at the front of the car.

We wrote them a letter and they rejected the appeal. They are a member of the BPA, and have duly sent a POPLA form for the independent appeals process.

There are signs in the area which say No Stopping, etc.

I am guessing this might be classed as a "fair" charge, but would be interested in what experiences others have had of this location, or if anyone thinks, despite all the documented evidence, they should just be ignored...

    Thanks.

There is nothing fare about scamming money out of honest people with fake fines.

Only the very Stupid end of society pay them anyway.
    Be happy...;)

How so? How can arivate compny possibly claim that the amount the claim is a reasonavble and not punitive charge for coming to a halt on some bit of private road?

Instead of posting on this somewhat unrelated thread, how about searching for Liverpool/John Lennon Airport, and you'll find quite a few directly relevant threads, all with the same advice to ignore.

If you want to take it to POPLA, however, there are people here who will happily help build a good case. These airport charges are particularly unenforceable for loads of reasons - e.g. I bet you never saw the signs on which the so-called contract was, and how can you get a Parking Charge when you were never parked?

Unlike Council Tickets, these tickets fall under civil law, and hence the charge must represent the actual losses suffered by the landowner.

I somehow doubt that the landowner lost £60/£100 (whatever they are asking for) as a result of you stopping briefly. Hence the charge is unfair iif it's anything higher than £0.00 - their actual loss in this instance.

You could appeal this to POPLA if you like (they will almost certainly reject it anyway - they are about as independent as Howard Webb reffing a Man Utd game), the result is NOT binding on you, so you can simply choose to ignore everything from that point on.

Or you could just ignore it now, its up to you.

It won't go near a court, trust me!

You guessed wrong. There are NO fair PPC fake tickets, I suppose you started by reading Martin's old article (which is about 4 years old BTW) where he hedged his bets a bit and said 'don't pay unfair private parking tickets'?

Well on this live forum, every day for YEARS, we have been saying 'don't pay any private parking tickets'. Pepipoo forum tells you the same; a good summary here:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=46975

However, as you have got to the POPLA stage you may as well go for that as well and then ignore it if your appeal isn't accepted (it's NOT binding on you). POPLA costs the scammers money that they cannot pass on to you - see the top thread on this parking forum, with a link to a website explaining about POPLA.

In certain circumstances, according to BPA, it is not binding on the PPC either -( if they feel that there is a point of law in question) - but generally, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. One thing the government has done for the motorist.
