Outlook 2007 Flipped Out - lost calender

Options
Hi,
My Outlook 2007 flipped out yesterday - it was downloading emails from the server but not displaying them. After following internet instructions etc. I managed to sort the problem (I had to create a new .pst file and make this the default, them remove the previous .pst file - though as far as I know I didn't delete it from my C Drive etc.).

However, and despite copying archive/backup files to my new email .pst folder I'm missing a lot of emails from my Inbox (and other email folders). As an example, my Sent Items Folder now only contains 4 messages, which is crazy.

Also, I've lost all my Calender reminders, which is a pain.

Any ideas please? Can the problem be sorted or have I done something irretrievable? Incidentally, before shutting down my pc yesterday I did check my Recycle Bin for any files/folders - there were none listed.

Please Help!
Thanks

When you said you copied archive / backup files to your new pst file. Where did you archive them from? all your emails and calendar entries are stored in the pst file. If you've created a new one, everything will be stored in your old one.
You can try adding both to Outlook to see if you can still access your old one, and then drag everything over... or run them both alongside each other.

Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure I tried that (including doing a search on my laptop for .pst folders, including hidden files and folders), without joy.... :(
