Fraudulent reviews on tripadvisor, twitter etc

Well he didn't link it but used his real name on twitter. Google is your friend - took 1 sec to find someone with the same name on 'linked in'.

Quite funny because I posted link on his twitter feed. Next thing I knew he'd blocked me, all the official company twitter users had blocked me and he's deleted all his tweets saying how wonderful the place is. Pity cos I seem to have let him off the hook now by warning him...

PM me the restaurant name, I'll happily report him to his local TA, his tweets are easy enough to retrieve through a website such as thus http://archive.org/index.php or google cache.

Wots the issue? A reveiw is an opinion. Take em all with a pinch of salt. A frind of mineruns a bar ands has eveiws on TA. One is good and the following reveiw accusses that reveiw of being the owner. It isnt. I told him to get the web adminstrators from TA to delete it. He said no, the real reveiws speak for them selves. I gave him a glowing review as i had a great time there. Not biased, just honest.

I went to get a SIM card from a certain supplier who have just been renamed, and the assistant asked me to give them 9 or 10 if I got a text asking "how they done".

Surely that's down to me to decide??

Of course it is, but there's nothing to stop the assistant asking. If nothing else, it would give you leverage if you'd wanted any extra help from them.

The issue is this restaurant is awful - of course in my opinion. Of which I plan to post on TA.

My issue is where FAKE reviews are posted by the owners purporting to be customers. This is not an HONEST review.

Came here for the first time last week and what an experience, the waiter/manager? reccommended we try the fillet steak and boy was he right! Cooked absolutely to perfection! The place was full too so getting steaks cooked right on a very busy night (which i know all too well having been burned elsewhere in the past) is not an easy thing to do. Kudos to the chef.

The ambience is lovely, the music is very befitting the tall tables and the open kitchen. The service is absolutely top class, we were greeted by a man in a waistcoat, presumably the manager who couldn't be more enthusiastic sat us down and got our first round of drinks, then a lovely waitress took us through the specials and took our order, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

Overall, this is a real find and we will be back as often as my wallet will let us. Well done Greenwood & Brown

Odd it was his first visit on 28/12/2012 when he started work their as the general manager in October 2012

Who is stupid enough to use the same username on tripadvisor to review their own business. Oh hang on that would be Dan Johnson aka danjamin259 who is the main companies "e Marketing manager" and also uses the same user name on tripadvisor and twitter.

It's a bit like yodel. They retweet lots of tweets praising them yet ignore any that criticise them. All it means that twitter is not to be trusted as a source of reviews
