Faulty goods but no packaging...

Hi There, I bought a bluetooth handsfree car kit through online but with a groupon voucher.

After about 2 months the thing has stopped working, I have emailed them with the problem and they emailed back with this:

All you need to do is send the unit via royal mail using second class large letter to the address below it must be in it's original box to be able to return, include your details and whether you want a replacement or refund.

Which is fine but I no longer have the packaging, do I really need the packaging for a faulty item??? I would like to know my rights before I respond to them.

I would be greatfull for any information.
