Compare the Market - beware!

My dogs are getting on a bit (8 & 9yrs). Whilst using compare the market.com I have discovered that some insurance companies state that dogs over 8 years are subject to a percentage of the vets bill being paid by the owner plus the excess.
Others state you pay an excess only. It was not until I phoned some of the insurance companies that they admitted that the compare the market website was wrong and that in addition to the declared excess on the website you also had to pay a percentage of the vets bill.
You are not comparing like with like on pet insurance on Compare the Market. beware:mad:
