Partner going back to uni - any benefits?

My DH to be is planning to go to back to uni to do a nursing degree. What benefits/tax credits would we be entitled to that we aren't entitled to now?
Council tax? Some digging shows that we might be entitled to a single person's discount?
WTC? I would be the only one working and earning £13k/year
Child benefit? I get this now but would need to put LO in nursery a couple more days per week
Anything else?

Child tax credits.....the childcare element of working tax credits. Housing Benefit....for you and your child...your partner wouldn't be entitled on his own but as you are working and have a child then you are entitled.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I thought for the childcare element of WTC, both people in a couple need to be working over 16 hours, although there may be help with childcare costs through the student finance instead0

I meant CTC, my brain's just getting back to normal, been ill for the past three days.
We currently get CTC, CB.

He should be able to claim dependants allowance for student finance, possible discount on council tax. If you can stop claiming child care through wtc and claim it through uni instead as it is 85% instead of 75%0

If he's on a F/T nursing course then a 25% council tax discount can be claimed providing there is only 1 other adult in the property.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
