ESA Reconsideration

I'll try and explain the best i can.
I had the esa medical, never received the decision on paper,so had to ring as i noticed my payments had dropped i used to be in the support group, this time they have awarded me 15 points and placed me in the wrag,i've rang and asked for a re-consideration,and were told to put it in writing.
My query is do i just send a standard letter asking for the re-consideration or do i send all the discrepancies from the medical report and info i have as the last time i asked, the phonecall were sufficent,so dont know quite what to send.
Also if it doesen't go in my favour and i take it to appeal,do i carry on receiving my money at wrag rate or do i drop to the assesment rate.

All help much appreciated.

You should include everything you have in the letter, the idea is to give the new Deicsion Maker everything neccessary to overturn the original decision. If you decided to appeal afterwards you would continue to get the same money until you have had 365 days in the WRAG (after that you would be means tested to see if you qualify for income related benefit).

However, asking for a reconsideraton first really just slows down the process - a recon is automatically carried out anyway if you appeal. It might be worth going directly to appeal, especially if you think you would not qualify for income related ESA.

First - get a copy of the current medical report if you don't have it.
You need to request the reconsideration in writing.
You don't need to put any more than enough to identify you and the decision in question, and a brief reason why it's wrong.
However, the more relevant information and evidence you can supply the better.
If you appeal, the payments would continue at the WRAG rate.
