learn to drive in the snow? can't believe this is serious it must be a wind up'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

Correct technique does make a difference. Winter Tyres are useless if you still drive like a nob, they will just give you more rope to hang yourself with. Likewise correct technique becomes useless once the snow gets bad enough.
Hell just watching the first few series of Ice Road Truckers will help0 -

I was down B&Q car park @ 08:00 on Saturday morning doing just that. How far will I skid from 20mph, how much slide when cornering, pulling away in 2nd gear. It is the responsible thing to do- consequently in 20 years of driving I have never been stuck in the snow. Plus, it is really good fun doing snow doughnuts and hand brake turns.0 -

Watching that now! It's the same reason they drive about fine in Sweden et al. They just get used to it. We get a couple of days snow a year and everyone falls apart. Lorries jackknife all over the places ad everyone leaning on the accelerator and then saying it must be the car/conditions.
We simply don't get to practise. Skid sessions are brilliant. I highly recommend doing one if given the chance.
Also, another last thing on winter tyres, the key thing being winter. It's not just for snow they are useful in all cold temps because they provide more grip where other tyres start to become harder and less flexible. Great at clearing standing water etc too. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
