Weekly Esa in Jan !Why?

I have been paid weekly re my income related Esa since beginning of the month ? Also do i need to register for cold winter payment or do i get it automatically as we have had one period of it in my area !

There was a computer glitch based on payments being sent out early for Christmas / New Year that has caused a few problems. Payments will revert back to fortnightly and the DWP are advising people budget their last weekly payment to make it last until the next normal (fortnightly) payment.
You don't have to register for a CWP but you will only automatically qualify if you are on either the Work Related Activity Component or Support Component. People on assessment rate ESA don't qualify unless they have a child under 5 or as I understand it receive the Severe Disability Premium which requires the DLA Care Component at the middle or higher rate to be in payment.0
