before today when I visited the site through an e-mail update it didn't count as a visit for the new posts bit

I know what you mean but the powers that be are just getting used to it too and it was put online soooooo quickly (so everyone wasn't inconvenienced by it being off for weeks) they haven't got used to or refined all the bits yet:o

that's all but it will soon settle down .......they gotta tweak till it's ALL good

I don't notice the post count so wasn't aware it's been affected but I'm very pleased with the tweaking. For the last few days I've had pages freezing when I post, links tothe next page not working etc etc. I think it was a Firefox problem with vBulletin Boards but after yesterday's break - all back to normal.
