Has anyone used this station as I was wondering how busy the car park is? Staying not too far away and was wondering if it will be full by 9am or not!? Any help would be fantastic!! Would go earlier but parking is half price after 9, although I have read of 3for free promotion I don't know if we would qualify as 2ad and 2ch + baby and we would have travel card not chiltern ticket??? Soo confusing!!

I don't know the tube station, but according to a local website you have to "be up with the lark" to get a space weekdays and the advice is that it is very busy.

It's the western terminus of the Central Line, so bound to be packed on weekdays. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

If you are looking to travel into London and use a London travelcard to do so, West Ruislip station is in zone 6, so you would need to purchase a zone1-6 daily travel card. If you purchase this after 9.30am on weekdays you will get cheaper off peak rates. Children aged 10 and under travel free on tubes, london overground trains and buses. They just follow you through the pushchair/lugguage rate at tube station barriers. A zone 1-6 off peak travel card is £8.90 per adult and gives unlimited daily travel on London transport buses, tubes, Dockland Light railway and overground trains within those zones.

That was my plan but I need to find somewhere to leave the car! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated x0 -
You don't say in which area you are staying in, but I persume it is too far to walk to the station as you need to bring the car, maybe you could look at public bus transport . If you are staying in a hotel you could contact the hotel for advice.
Bus link for West Ruislip buses.

I would do a google maps search of roads near the station. There is also a thread on google which although 2 years old, may contain some useful advice.

You could also maybe look at tube station with larger car parks to park up at e.g.according to googlemaps Rayners Lane tube station is a 15 min drive from West Ruislip and has 244 spaces. Smurfy's sugguestion of South Harrow tube station car park is only 15 mins drive also and £4 a day to park there. Rickmansorth station is 20 mins away and is £2.70 a day to park (fast train from there to Marylebone takes 27 mins) .

We are staying in a village nr high wycome (not hotel) and will have 3 children 11,7and2 with us hence wanting to park at tube, don't want them to be shattered before we start!! Trying to get around as cheap as possible so was hoping to find somewhere to leave the car that would then allow us to rely on a travel card,0

I used to live near Ruislip Gardens which is one stop down the line. Commuters often parked on Carmichael Close and Bridgwater Rd, have a look on Google maps.0

Amersham - get Oyster Cards and then you go in from Zone 9?
Or just get a travelcard from Wycombe if you are near Wycombe and get the train in.... Driving + tube will be little different from train + tube for the kids.0 -
Ruislip golf course car park is directly opposite. It has loads of spaces this time of year, just park as far away from the clubhouse as you can. Last time I used it there were no parking companies operating there.
I live near Croxley station on the Metropolitan line. You can park on the surrounding streets for free with a maximum of 1/4 mile walk to the station. From where you're staying it's closer to home than West Ruislip too, and has a decent parade of shops opposite the station for papers/sweets/supplies etc.Pants0
