I just had an email from JollyDays - luxury camping company:
Stay in a cosy tent with wood burner, bed and the rest of Jollydays luxury, in exchange for 20 hours work, spaced out over your stay (mainly Fri-Mon) in a magical woodland; it's as simple as that!
For the rest of your stay you can do whatever you want! Visit the beautiful surrounding area, shop in the cosmopolitan City of York, or stay in the woodland and relax with a nice book and the soundtrack of bird song in the background.

We have regular returning volunteers that come back every year to take advantage of this great opportunity.
Volunteering holiday... how does that work?
Stay in a cosy tent with wood burner, bed and the rest of Jollydays luxury, in exchange for 20 hours work, spaced out over your stay (mainly Fri-Mon) in a magical woodland; it's as simple as that!
You can stay in a Bell Tent (sleeps up to 4) for a week or longer. Weeks roll Thursday-Thursday and some of the jobs are:
· Chopping/gathering logs for the campfire
· Changing bed linens
· Help on change over days
· Painting
· Painting
· Installing bird boxes
The holiday part...

Here are some comments from past volunteers,
· "I visited as a volunteer in October for a month, and felt like part of the Jollydays family by the time i left!" Michael Lusty, Surrey
· "My Third stay as a volunteer and the perfect antidote for the stress of the real world...Loved the work as it's not real work pushing a wheelbarrow!" Alistair Potter
· "Had a superb week as volunteers, both now experienced 'brashers!' thank you so much for making us feel welcome" Penny, Lincoln
So come and experience a volunteer holiday at Jollydays; people do say it feels like a free holiay - who can say no to that?
