Automatic Travel insurance renewal

Hi all,
Today I noticed an amount taken from my bank account which I wasn't aware of. It was listed under INSUREANDGO.

I checked my emails and couldn't find any mention of the company - after a lot of digging I noticed my last annual travel insurance policy was taken out a year ago. but with a company called Cheaper travel insurance - after looking at my documentation, I notice that the email address points to insureandgo.com

I wasn't aware that when I signed up that they would auto-renew this policy - is this a normal practice, and can they do it without asking me?

Cheers

Alun

    Hello,
The company that you bought the policy from should contact you first and check that your circumstances have't changed and that you are still eligible for the cover. It should also have advised you of the renewal and given you a 14 day cooling off period so you should contact Insureandgo and arrange a refund if you do not want the cover.

    Thanks,
I've had not contact whatsoever - and we're at the same address and I have the same email account.

Thanks for the advice, I'll get onto them straight away.

I thought it was just me losing my marbles!

I hadn't noticed at the bank, but looking now money was taken on the 18th of this month. I received paperwork and a new card from them in the mail yesterday, but just reckoned I had got a renewal letter, checked out prices and decided to go with them again, although I couldn't remember doing it.

Some policies do auto-renew, unless you have opted out. Check the t&c.
