Labels will be cut for legal reasons?

sometimes labels a re cut and sometimes if it interfers with washing instruction the brand name is just blacked out with a permanent marker.

When we sold items on our stall that we cut the labels the cut piece would be clipped to item with paper clip/safety pin so when it was purchased the buyer could see the label, but we would retain the cut piece after sale.
