Item exempt from 30 day guarantee?

Hi, I bought a new facial sauna from Argos to replace my very ancient one.
I have used the new facial sauna 3 times and it has made marks on my cheek. It seems to be very, very hot .. too hot, infact, to use.
I feel that there is a fault with the product .... surely it shouldn't mark my skin.
This item is exempt from 30 day guarantee do I have any rights to return it?

these are usually exempt unless faulty. if you think its faulty take it back and explain what the issue is0

Argos's 30 day guarantee is to allow you return goods that you decide you no longer want.
Read about it here...
Also on that page you will see...If there's a fault with the product...
We've made it easier!- If you bring it back to us within 30 days with your proof of purchase*, we'll give you a replacement or a refund.

The OP says the item is exempt from this policyThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Its a 50/50 - yes Argos can say its exempt from the 30 day guarentee - due to it being a body item, same as earrings - risk of health and safety - same as mobile phones, and cameras - basically u could buy £500 camera on buy now pay later card, - go to Kenya take the most amazing photographs - then realsie you can't afford the camera and return...
But if the item is faulty this trumps the non returns within 3o days - due to fault, as long as you take it back with prof of purchase your be fine xxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Assuming of course the item is actually faulty and not just a case of op having sensitive skin or something0

Why not go back to Argos, tell them of the problem, and see if they'll refund you. If they do, fine. If not, then it's time to think about the legal position, contact the manufacturer, etc. But it's jumping the gun to worry about escalating it if you've not yet tried to get a refund from them.0

Thanks for the help,
I popped it back to Argos today and it was very straight forward.
I explained the problem to customer services and was given a full refund.

Good to hear - suspect its not worth the risk with a product like this as if they get it wrong and it caused injury they would be in the poopy0
