council bulk buying energy....worth doing?

last year i used 3428 kwh and i pay 41 pound a month for electricity, i have signed up for the local councils bulk buying scheme with no obligation. does anyone have a good experience of these schemes? at a tenants association a guy with eon like me said he only paid 24 pound a month . does he use less than me sounds awfully cheap?

The last one of these bulk buying things was hopeless for me. It was more expensive than my EDF rate that I was on at the time. It's worth signing up as interested. You don't have to commit until you know the cost.

yes thats what i thought , im on the ball with meter readings, tenner a week isnt extortionate , my average daily use is 9kwhrs , the admin as been ok up till now, if they offer substantial savings, might be worth going bact to my supplier to match it,,,,,,,thanks

As far as i can make out,all they do is solicit people to join up and then bulk auction the combined consumption to the best/highest bidder whilst presumably taking a rake off in referral commission. I dont see how that can secure the best deal and you are far better off doing your own research.
