Gas boiler fires up but quickly shuts down

At the weekend whilst screwing our floor boards back down, I nicked a central heating pipe. We drained the system and relaced the hole with a compression joint. We then bled the sytem, however now when the system calls for Heat (Heating or hot water) the bolier fires up for a short while (up to a couple of minutes), then switches back off. The pump is still pumping and seems to get very hot?
Does anybody have any ideas what I can do?
Thanks
Patrick

From what you have described, it sounds like you have not properly bled the system. Depending on your particular pump, you may have a bleed cap on it, to get the air out of the pump, usually on the centre line of the impeller, if that makes sense. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

If the pump is getting hotter than before it could be seized, does it sound like it is rotating?0
