When I was in this situation I was advised (by BR adviser at Consumer Credit Counselling Service) to keep the buildings insurance going.
I also had to ask for the council to waive the council tax, as it was empty, unfurnished and unoccupied. They did this.
The ONLY issue I had was with Scottish Power, who told me that until the property was actually repossessed and taken back by the lender, I was still responsible for the "standing charge" for gas and electricity. So, for nearly a year (time it took NRAM to repo) I had to pay about £60 a quarter to them! :mad:
It is a difficult journey, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, even though sometimes it seems to be just a glimmer!0
