Raised dispute havent received item back

Sold electrical item on 14th Jan. He said it was damaged but no matter, liar, he didnt like the way it worked so was sending it back. After much astonishment, as it was as good as new, and having posted here, https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4395957 I agreed to refund.

Sent him my address as he requested, even though written on box and available via paypal.

No return parcel received as yet, and today he opened dispute.

He listed among a whole raft of reasons, ................... that I gave a false address! He said the parcel had been refused delivery as no such address.

So aggressive too, saying as I gave a false address, I have to pay him the p+p for returning the item which I've never received.

I need your advice on how to reply to the dispute.

Something else, I can't find some of my messages from ebayers, including him,

Between buying and delivery, we had some chats re trying to reduce his p+p etc, which are nowhere to be found in my messages.

I need to find them as he stated he didn't like the way the machine worked but accepted the condition.

Is there a way I can request all correspondence from us both?

I cannot believe how a buyer can raise a dispute so early when I'm still awaitng return of the item.

  • He should have made sure himself that he was sending it to the correct by obtaining this through ebay.

Then made sure it was sent recorded.

If he hasnt done either or better still both of these then he's an idiot.

If he persists with threats or abuse, report him.

As for next correspondence to him ask him for the tracking number so you can see the method of postage he's used and help "see" where the missing item is... *cough* still in his house *cough cough*
  • eBay can see you gave him correct address. He will have to provide evidence to eBay he's sent it back through a tracking number. If PayPal take his side and refund - appeal it and PayPal will reimburse you. Now how do I add a discussion point to the forum? I'm new to this site and have my own problem I need help with lol!!

You have the option to escalate the dispute with paypal - I have just done this with a dispute and the buyer was told to return the item recorded delivery at his own cost at which point he would be refunded the initial purchase and delivery costs.
Your buyer has accepted that he received the item - he now needs to prove he sent it back!
