Fendi Spy Bag..Similar Photos! Hmm!

I would like a Fendi Spy bag, like most women, probably! I've had an eye on a few on ebay, but I know fakes are rife, so I've "watched" some.

Look at these two listings, the first in the UK, the second, the US.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=ADME%3AL%3ARTQ%3AUK%3A1&viewitem=&item=260112862627&rd=1

Some of the pics on the UK one look as if they've been nicked from the US listing. The US pics nearly all have the same background.

I emailed the UK seller and she said, "Hi both bags are the same so small detail will be the same such as the secret compartment, all pics are my own. You can see the bag i am selling n all pics."

Ok, I'm new to ebay and it probably goes on all the time, but what a cheek, replying as if I'm stupid.

    umm they're completely different photos.
I'd say both sellers have the bags in their possesion (wether or not they're genuine is another matter - but there feedback looks OK).

Strange that both sellers have set all their previous bag auctions to private I'm assuming it's to protect wife's from their husbands finding out just how much they are spending on a piece of stitched leather to carry round their knick knacks in.

And both sellers have £500 buyer protection so not really anything to worry about.... apart from the fact your prepared to spend hundreds of pounds on a handbag but hey that's another matter ;)

Look closer, 3 of the close-up pics are *identical*. I pointed this out to the UK seller and she's went quiet.

Gosh, you're good ... I would never have spotted that in a zillion years. If you're gut instinct is that they are or might be dodgy, leave them alone .... they'll be another Fendi along next week with receipts etc. attached.

It's not often I get called observant! The thought of spending cash must sharpen my senses. There's no way I'd spend £400 on a bag anyway, I was hoping I'd get a bargain. Highly unlikely really!

Maybe if I wait until it's the bag no-one wants to be seen dead with in a few months!

    oooh she's right isn't she.
Bet your good at those spot the difference puzzles.
  • If you read the neutral feedback of another bag she sold..

I mailed hours ago telling the UK seller, I think you're missing the point, your photos are *exactly* the same as the US seller.

She's responded saying "Hi i am not missing the point no i used pics form the USA listing because my camera does not take a good close up - if you are truely annoyed about this i will change them but i wanted to show the detail and my camera blurs."

What a load of tripe. She could've said she used the US seller's photos in her first reply (She said they were all her own originally?..isn't it against ebay rules to use someone else's photos?).

And her "own" close-up pics don't look *that* bad. Some people have a brass-neck.

This is exactly why I wouldn't let anyone use my pictures, awhile ago someone used my pictures in their listing and I contacted them and they reluctantly removed them. I thought that buyers would see the same photos and think that either I was connected with the other seller, had pinchd the pictures myself or it could seem dodgy. I do sometimes (not very often)use stock photos but usually include one of my own aswell, sometimes you just cannot get an item to look its best.

    Good spotting.

The fact that she fibbed and said *all* the photos were hers, at first..seeing as this is a "designer" item, and there's lots of fakes around, it seems dodgy.

I'd really have to do my homework on a seller and the item before I stumped up ££s for an expensive item. It's just a shame some people get ripped off thinking they're buying the real thing.

yes, i noticed that a couple of the close up photos are the same. so well done LouLou.

personally, if i was to buy a branded bag, i'd fork out for the real thing. at least you'd know its the real thing, and if you keep the receipt, you can sell it on, for reasonable money. think of it as an investment.

my friends has the Spy bag, and the leather isnt all that. I think shes had it for around 6months now, and the leather on the back is worn out (where bag rubs on body whilst walking)

have you seen the bag in the flesh in shops?? have you held it?
