From my perspective (as somebody with an Electronics degree), it would seem that switch cleaner is supposed to be used for cleaning switches/contacts.Really? Why is that then? As one electronics engineer to another perhaps you'd like to explain as it is non-conductive.
And it's not exactly mains power in there, is it?0 -
Yes, is used for that but it is not supposed to be poured down gaps in the plastic in the hope that it will eventually reach the contacts.#From my perspective (as somebody with an Electronics degree), it would seem that switch cleaner is supposed to be used for cleaning switches/contacts.

The main problem with this is that these switches generally work with some sort of lever arrangement meaning that the switch contacts are not often directly beside the push button. It could be a weakness in the plastic lever arrangement that is causign the problem. The actual switch contacts may not be getting operated but feel free to slosh your cleaner around as you see fit.
