how long does a tweet take to appear?

hi there

i have just signed up to twitter in order to tweet a company , have tweeted them about 20 mins back, but has not shown on their feed, how long will a tweet take to appear on their feed?

it wont appear on there feed unless they were to retweet or reply to you. Otherwise could you imagine all the spam that would occur!..

They will see it in their feed when they are online but you won't see it on theirs unless they respond to it or retweet it. If it is a large company they may get many people tweeting at them and they ignore many of these or not even see them due to the fast paced nature of Twitter (if they follow lots of people that tweet may get buried amongst the tweets of people they are following.) If you really need to speak to somebody at the company I would suggest either emailing them or phoning them up - Twitter is probably not the best way to go about it.

Understanding twitter is difficult at first (I struggled for a few days). When you tweet it only shows on your timeline, unless like StuC75 said you get retweeted.
If it's a big firm they make take longer to get back to you but if its an urgent issue I'd keep tweeting til they paid attention.
