France House Holiday

Options
Hi
We are looking at going to France at the beginning of July for two weeks, either flying and hiring a car or driving all the way (Dundee).
We will be going with another family so it would be 4 adults and 5 kids.
We have looked at camping but would prefer a cottage/house we could rent with the possibility of a swimming pool. We would also like to get a trip into Disney, so would like to be not hours away from there!
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good company for houses/cottages and also best region to go for?
Many thanks

    Have you tried https://www.ownersdirect.co.uk

We stayed in one of the associated hotels when we went to disney so have not used any of these cottages but you can browse by region so just pick places that are round about that area.

Trouble is that places near Disney will be booked or are not very good.
Have a look at places near here http://www.puydufou.com/en?season
and book two days there to fit everything in. All our friends say it is so much better than Disney.
Also look at http://en.futuroscope.com/ great for teenagers.
Our french neighbours have stayed at http://www.bonnes-vacances-sarl.com/vacances-en-vendee.php
and are going back again this year so it must be OK.

I would 'second' a visit to the Puy du Fou. It's a bit like Legoland in Britain (minus the lego). They have a lot of interactive events, as well as falconry, gladiators, etc etc. It's a fantastic day out, and as Knightstyle says, you'd want to spend a couple of days to get the best benefit.

There's a fab place called Le Grand Defi not too far away, (google for website). Basically a kind of French "Go Ape" with all sorts of high wires, zip wires, etc through a large forest. They have trails for all skill levels, from toddler to adult.

La Vendee is a world away from the "faff" of Paris and the surround. If you place yourself centrally, you have access to the wonderful beaches/seaside towns of Noirmoutier, St.Gilles Croix de Vie, etc, too.
Like a priceless jewel buried in dark layers of soil and stone, earth radiates her brilliant beauty into the caverns of space and time.

Stately trees seem to brush the deep blue sky. Clouds billow to form magestic peaks. The songs of birds fill the air creating symphony upon symphony

another website to try is https://www.cheznous.com

Used them before - independent owners - similar to owners direct.

Try holidaylettings, and +1 for futuroscope.
  • Last summer we stayed here http://www.gitelapescherie.com/

cant reccommend the house enough absolutely beautiful, a little isolated but we loved the peace and quiet and opportunity to make as much noise as we liked! Its an hours drive to Puy du Fou, Futurescope and the coastal resorts. Any questions just ask.
