Switch or not?

We are constantly being told to switch (I'm currently with EDF for gas and electric) because of future price rises, but in my case, I'm not sure it is really worth it. There is only me in the house, I only heat downstairs and keep the temperature a bit lower than many people seem to think is acceptable (their houses feel like a furnace when I walk in!). I prefer to wear a jumper and roll myself up in a throw with the cat on top. I'm out for most of the evening 4 nights a week and the heating goes off on the timer shortly after I get back. Last time I changed because of threatened price rises it cost me a bomb because the rate was higher than what I was paying, and shortly afterwards the prices started coming down!

So is it worth it?

Potentially not if you're happy with your current rate. Try some energy comparison sites to see if you could save anything.

Because we don't know your usage or region or tariff, we can't tell you if it's worth it or not.
But 2 minutes on a comp site with your annual kWh figures will reveal all.
Since the average saving for switchers is around £300 (including any available cashbacks), is that not a bad reward for 2 minutes work?
If you are currently on an EDF dual fuel standard tariff, that is always the most expensive.
