Extractor fan in downstairs loo

This has been working fine since we moved into this house. You switch on the light and on comes the extractor fan which is cut into the window glass. Now, since the cold weather, the light on the fan comes on ok but no fan. Could it be frozen? If so, might it work again when the weather thaws? Otherwise it is another job on the list to have done when when we get our electrician in soon.

Nothing to freeze, unless there's snow in the impeller turned to ice, or something else blocking it. Can you turn it?
More likely that the motor has just failed or burned out.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
To be honest I am scared to touch it as the light is on so I worry about getting electrocuted. It sounds like I need to replace it, thanks.0

Can't you try turning the fan blades when the wc light is off as the fan won't start if there's no power to it and it won't trap your fingers.0

The fans are fairly robust so perhaps, as you suggest, it's just frozen. Replacements are fairly cheap so shouldn't cost you too much.0
