I've just worked out (having been inspired to whilst reading this thread!) that I have 100 payments to go as well, which makes it sound much more manageable!! I really hope to cut that down by some overpayments once my overdraft is cleared next month and DH on board.
Am definitely going to go down the route of jars of cash for grocery spend and also for entertainment spend! That actually sounds like fun and what celebrations there will be if any money over at end of the month!! Lol!!! I think DH will actually enjoy that (as he does most of grocery shopping). Is that what you do?
Otherwise he just chucks everything on the joint credit card and it doesnt seem "real".Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

PS on the losing weight front... have you tried the free app/online tool called myfitnesspal? It is absolutely brilliant and easy peasy, just helps you make the right choices and incentivises you to be more active. I've lost two stone, gone down from a size 14 to a size 10 and I love it!! Just saying it may work for you or others on here too... I'm a convert anyway!Sick and tired of waking up sick and tired...

We've never been ill together Lois, usually manage to stagger it by a few days. It was a lot harder to placate/sooth/entertain from my deathbed, had to call on reinforcements in the end, thank heavens for having family close by.
hi Mrsdee:wave:
Sadly there has never been any coins left to do anything with at the end of the month, the last few days I'm usually paying everything with shrapnel. However, the jars are really focusing the mind, I don't like using my cash card anymore at all.
My budget is;
£280 food, groceries, toiletries, school dinners, dog food etc for 4
£50 kids activity going out money
£140 petrol
£100 misc, hair, presents, clothes, medicines etc
£50 'me' money
I split it into 2 lots so fill my jars twice a month, seems more doable that way, it looks loads seeing it written here, it's the food budget that is my downfall still:(
Well done on your weight loss:T I've never been that bothered about my excess weight... however, I have beautiful wardrobes of clothes bought when I had oodles of spare money (no kids then) in sizes 8, 10, 12 and 14. I really would like to start wearing nice things again.
I've read about that app in a few threads, but haven't looked. I have a perverse stubbornness about weight loss/exercise If hubby offers any encouragement or even mentions that I have lost weight I will cybosh (sp) it just out of cussedness. Unfortunately that attitude extends to apps and gadgets, I'm just not willing to be told what to do:D0 -
I adore myfitnesspal. You can make it give you an extra 250 calories for...er...marital relations. *gets coat*0

if not married then the activity would probably earn you WAY more calories! Hmmm. Exciting bed goings-on - what are they???!!! Obviously I've been married far too long!MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0

I'd rather get 250 extra calories for a glass of wine and a good book:D0

Thats kind of the deal. You earn them through "exercise"and spend them on wine.
Wouldnt eat a book myself.0
