I took it to mean that since you could download the results from April, and we're only in January, that they conducted ongoing studies up till then then published them. Did you look at the results or did you just look for something on google until you found something that seemingly backed you up them immediately posted it?

I would question AV-tests findings of an average of 92% industry average for new ("zero-day") malware. The files I have uploaded, and other files that I see uploaded don't appear to reflect this.

In using MSE for the past couple of years my PC has never been compromised. Here's a few detection's from my own recent realtime scan logs: Some of these are genuine detections and some are deliberately downloaded.

That you know of.

The point I'm making is don't rely solely on tests. The AV-test results are one test. Different test methodology, different samples - different day, different results.

Why is M$ so bothered by the results then?

Heard of a rootkit? You only know that MSE didn't pick anything up not that you haven't been infected.

I then cited many links in post #16 to show that not only have I heard of rootkits, I am quite proficient in being able to detect, identify & remove them - on others PC's (or my own).

Alas, I fear I may just be feeding the troll, so on that note - I'm out.

Ok so you were talking about you while I was talking about MSE. Which still begs the question if MSE is so good why do you need to be proficient at detecting things yourself? Not exactly proving your point there are you.

With his record(of helping people on here solve their problems), I don't think waddler_8 needs to prove anything to trolls, or forum police,or indeed yourself. Most occurrences of malware get through because of lack of user knowledge/apathy/misinformed comments...
