If you fail ESA you will have to sign on and claim JSA. So you will still be able to claim Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit, that you claim now.
Are you going to appeal the decision ?0 -
I also lost my appeal for it,but I never claimed JSA as I then received DLA and I got a lot of back pay, so I didn't think I would be entitled to JSA with having money from DLA,Totally confused today with it all0

You need to contact JSA and explain to them what has happened. If you do not sign on it will affect your pension payments.

DLA is not means tested so if you are eligible you may be entitled to JSA and your DLA is not taken into account.
So you can claim both if you are eligible.
Do you feel able to work? Are you still receiving fit notes from the doctor.
If you feel able to give us more information we may be able to help further. eg Single? Partner? Partner working? Children? Savings?0 -

best to get in touch with Housing Benefit, it can carry on, no problem there, it can carry on without JSA too.
but what will probably happen is theyll be informed the ESA has stopped & suspend your Housing Benefit until they know whats going on, so head them off at the pass & give them a call.0 -

Why are you posting lies? You do not need to sign on to jsa to claim HB and CTB
This is misleading and not helpful0 -
if you claim jsa you may get extra premiums paid with it depending on your dla care award if you have one0

recently I was sent a ATOS form with a deadline of 25th December 2012 - I sent it back guaranteed post so it was delivered 21st of December { and I have proof of this }
anyway the DWP Computer got a bit teletubbie mixed up as they claim the deadline was 21st of December so they stopped ESA and at the same time let Enfield Council know so they suspended Housing Benefit.
I called the DWP up and they spotted they were using the wrong deadline date so ESA was reinstated but for some crazy reason they forgot to let Enfield Council know that it was stopped by error.
It took me all sorts of calls to get it sorted out and Enfield Council wanted proof that my ESA has been reinstated.
It took me three other calls just to get a letter posted to me and as soon as that arrived I was down at the Council office - even although it was not a new claim they wanted to see bank statements going back for three months.
In all it took me three weeks to correct a error that was not mine.
By the way although the council only suspended Housing Benefit they sent a further letter telling me that it would be cancelled within a month so they are strict rules in place - as soon as I could show a letter that I was still on ESA they moved very fast to get things back to normal.
I cant say what other councils do.0
