The only earnings that aren't declarable (this isn't a hard and fast list of course) are winnings from bingo/gambling & premium bonds, competition winnings, selected benefits and cash gifts from friends/relatives (depending on their size).

Anyone earning money from websites should be declaring it, but most don't I'm sure. I declare mine, as I want to be self-employed forever and still pay my state pension stamp and receive maternity allowance etc.

I often see people saying I don't need to declare this small amount, I won't be over the tax threshold anyway etc. People often conveniently neglect to follow the rules and then assume they can claim ignorance. While it is rare to be caught for this type of evasion (at the moment) it does happen and I personally know of one such person who has been caught.

For me it isn't worth the worry of getting caught to save what is a minute amount of tax/NI really in the scheme of things.

  • Hey all.
Installed this yesterday (Chrome Extension) and had one ad (for "mobile contracts"), and one today (I forget what for) but nothing since, nada. Zilch. Haven't been searching willy-nilly (much, lol) but it seems not to give me anything even if I try stuff suggested earlier in this thread, or if I spend quite some time searching for similar terms (which I do because I'm currently looking into a few hobbies). And tips on what to do? I find now and then the test search "qmee" doesn't even work. Not often though.

So far earned 22p. Pittence but must say the speedy cashout with no minimum earnings is fantastic! I'm looking for new money-making ideas because a certain survey site I love (Populus) is sending less surveys, and one which I often make a fair bit of cash on (MySurvey) are seriously taking the mickey with their long wait for Paypal cashouts (years back it was instant). Hopefully someone has had some luck with this! Thanks in advance.

Have a look at some of the most popular threads on here. Swagbucks is good. Qmee is a bit hit and miss for me.

QMEE never said people would get rich by making searches. Like everything these days, it is a nice to have, but don't expect it to pay your bills.

I won £1 the other day on one of their facebook competitions, and it has been paid into my account and I have cashed it out.

It's like the old days when we could do daily clicks and earn about £5 a day if you did it enough. They have all gone too.

Qmee is a nice to have additional pennies here and there.

It makes me laugh when I read about all these people who complain they are not getting paid for every search they do, or if they replicate the searches that others do.

Remember Qmee is paid by advertisers, like most businesses today, and that is the only way they can afford to pay out. Algorithms prevent you earning for every search.

The thermal underwear was a good shout. Just got me a few pennies.

I make sure I cash mine out every day in case something happens as it only takes a few seconds.

Things I search are: insurance, gold diamond rings etc. Just anything high value.

I think it's best if you use it naturally as I read in the FAQs that the better user you are the more opportunities you will get to make money.

Thanks for this tip! I searched "gold diamond rings" and it got me a few pennies too! Thanks!
  • I got a 15p for searching 'yacht' in ebay and 'diamond ring' in Amazon which were the most I've got per click. I think you do have to play the game a bit and be natural etc otherwise I reckon you get penalised. Will keep trying new words!

Anyone know what it means when the icon in your browser goes red then fills up green? Does that mean you've got the money for the click?

It means you have just got money from your click on the advert you clicked on, then if you click the icon you will see that your amount has went up.
  • This sounds odd, who is paying for the clicks?

In their FAQ section on their website it says that businesses pay Qmee for displaying ads for their business in the Qmee search results, which Qmee then share with users who click on the specific ads.
