jsa and uni...

hello

i was just wondering ....My husband claims for me for jsa (income based) , we have 3 children .

I want to go to uni whilst husband still looks for work ,and i have an appointment with the uni tomorrow to see about the course . I was just wondering would this stop the jsa ? And if i was entitled to student loans would it affect jsa?

also would it stop housing benefit ? ..just trying to work out finances .

thanks in advance :)

Student loans are income and are counted as such for the purpose of calculating means tested benefits.

You would be eligible for a whole range of student finance (loans, grants, bursary, dependants allowance) some of which would affect means tested benefits. However, unless your husband gets a very well paid job, most of your student funding would carry on when he finds work.

    You might find this useful.
