Barclaycard though have passed my account to RMA and RMA state that "if you do not make a payment of £1829.46 within 7 days, we may instruct a licensed door step recovery firm Scotcall to visit your address'

Yes-Secure wrote to me who have passed on the debt to TNC they have said 'if your debt exceeds £750 we can issue a statutory demand for your bankruptcy'

So, for now, it's all very ominous.

    It's all empty threats.

I think they're trying to scare me.
I looked up about this Scotcall and it seems like they can't actually do anything at all if I don't let them in.
  • Yup, it's just bully-boy tactics (or with due regard to equality & diversity legislation) bully-girl tactics.

  • I have sent the letters today and emails to them last night. Just got to wait and see what happens.

I am really worried about ScotCall, they seem to not care no matter what situation the debtor is in.

I would love to pay everything I own back but I can't. I just hope they do not come to door acting aggressive.

If you read the first posts I wrote you would see that I have applied for countless number of jobs since being made-redundant but I have not been successful.

Do you think I just sit all day doing sweet nothing and not been to any interviews or applied for jobs?
You sound like one of those who just get everything handed to them on a plate and never had it tough in your life job-wise hence why you think living on JSA is a life-style choice.

I even applied at McDonalds and I was not accepted because they said I was 'over qualified'.

I am not job shy - I worked from the age of 16 and this is the first time I have been out of work in my life.

    I kindly accept your offer.

    What is it?

Obviously didn't read the very first post on this thread where bubblebath introduced himself. And you definitely can't have read this article from Martin

Hey, don't stress about Scotcall. They have no powers whatsoever. They know how to send official-looking letters that put the fear of god into some people and appear to come from courts. But that is all. No legal powers to back up their threats....Just keep doing what you are doing and everything will be good...plan will kick in...anxiety, stress and depression lifted...and then out the blue...wham...one of those job applications will come through....boom...all will be rosy in the bubblebath world!!! :rotfl:

I am astounded by your comments, you really aren't living in the real world are you!

Bubblebath, my DH was made redundant last June and has worked 1 full time job since he was 16 (he is now 48) and also had a part time evening job for 20 years however, since being made redundant last year from the NHS he has been unable to find any work at all. Every week he applies for at least 40 jobs and NEVER hears back from the companies he applies too. He has done temping work but this dried up after Christmas but he is hoping for some more from next week.

Good luck for the future and please don't let comments like the one posted earlier upset you, the vast majority of people on this forum understand.

have you been to the doctor about your depression?

perhaps you could call in to your old company and ask for your job back if you can get a prescription from the doctors to stop you slipping back into depression threw the job.

just an idea, have you considered moving to a different area to find work?
