I really hope someone can help. My younger daughter has done something to the new laptop and now the background is white on all screens and you have to hover over the screen to see any writing? I wasn't here so am unsure exactly how she has done this and she cannot tell us (she is non-verbal autistic), does anyone have any ideas. The laptop is a compaq CQ58.
TIA

Sounds like a knackered screen. The lid hasn't been forced back has it?
Got a spare monitor? Try it in the VGA port. Or connect to TV via HDMI.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -

I don't think there's anything wrong with the screen itself as my screensaver is a fully coloured picture and that displays fine. It's just when you try to go onto any other screens ie desktop, control panel, etc that you get the white screen. I'm pretty sure she must have pressed a button somewhere but may be wrongIf at first you don't succeed ........Alternative autism therapies should be free!!

Tried running your antivirus software? I had a load of glitchy stuff and turns out it was a virus.0

this should workGo to your start page, then click on desktop. Once you get to your desktop, RIGHT CLICK on the screen. A small box will open to the right of the pointer. Click on PERSONALIZE. Then click on the WINDOWS theme under the 3 default windows themes. You will click on the one with the flower on it.0
