  • When you put an offer in I was always advised it be under the condition it is removed from the market. So no, they can't.

    Same experience here (Burchelll Edwards)

Do not be bullied into it.

The EA insisted that it was a requirement from the vendor.

In fact when I had interviewed EA's to sell our house this is something they mention, and "sell" to potential vendors, so not something that a vendor has necessarily asked for.

I insisted that I would not be handing over my AIP along side my offer, but was prepared for their IFA to speak with my actual IFA to ascertain that we were good for the mortgage.

The EA got very shirty, but after I insisted that they have to put forward my offer anyway, I managed to speak to the manager.

To cut a long story short, out offer was put forward (grudgingly), our IFA who was know already by the EA's vouched for us and our offer was accepted by the vendor subject to solicitors being instructed.
