Claiming tax credit

I am currently filling in the tax credit form. My wife passed away 11 months ago. Do i fill in her details for last year on the form and do i fill in what she left me in my income? Heeeelp!!!

    You are now single so her previous earnings don't count. Savings are not considered bar the interest.

    Some benefits are income so i am not sure if widows pension etc are included here.

  • Thank you. Im only 39 so dont have pension income just full time wages. So do i just put in my own wages and savings interest and just send the form off? Sorry for sounding dumb but never had to fill in a benifits form before!!

    Op have you tried the Turn2us calculator? That tells you what to include for income.

    There are widows related benefits including your wifes pension you can claim. Please do investigate this as if their NI credits entitle you and the children I would claim them.
