Taking photos at house viewing?

Even if I was selling my car, I'd be pretty p*$$£d off if a prospective buyer climbed in getting mud everywhere for example.
There's ways round that. A big doormat, for one. Leaving your own shoes in a neat rack next to the front door, to hint at the visitors that they could at least offer to take theirs off. If it's a particularly wet day, spread a couple of old towels around the front door mat to soak up the excess .... etc etc. Plastic disposable overshoes, available at any good tool hire or DIY store.
Or even; "Would you mind leaving your shoes at the front door? We've just had the carpets freshly cleaned for the viewing"

In fact, I would go so far as to say you should have no criteria whatsoever if you have an estate agent that you can trust. Their aim is to maximise the price they obtain for the house and do this in the minimum time possible. This is the only criteria that matters.
Would I care if it turned into a party house or a brothel in years to come - not in the least!!!!
Yep, definitely......when we sold our last-but-one house I knew for a fact that our neighbours (who run a nursery school across two houses on opposite sides of the road) would be most likely to object to the person we were selling to (and he later had Barry George visit which I'm sure didn't go down too well with our former neighbours either ) but all we were interested in was selling. There was no way we were going to object to a particular buyer for whatever reason......
Photo-wise, we've taken pics when viewing empty properties - particularly our current house which was being sold as an empty, gutted and half-finished project so no vendor in residence to offend and lots of reasons to need reminders when we were back home 150 miles away etc.
OTOH, the buyers of our last house brought a video camera to their second viewing and proceeded to not only take pics, but also film several of our *treasures* as they hoped to replicate the Arts & Crafts look we had going on. They did ask first, but even so we were a little concerned that they had ulterior motives.......till they showed us pics of stuff they were already watching/hoping to win on eBay - still could have been a con I guess - we were very trusting and as it turned out they were genuine buyers and our sale went through okMortgage-free for fourteen years!

I don't think it's rude at all that you want to take photos, I think it's a very reasonable thing to request. I would say take as many photos as you can. I wish I had paid more attention before buying my first home as I missed allot of stains on the carpet that if spotted I'm sure I could of got them to lower the price.0
