This site has changed our lives

On the first day I found MSE I got all my paper work out. Within the first week I had reduced the rates on both our credit cards, won a £10 voucher on Pigsback (which I had actually been a member of for years, but never knew how to use!) Realised I was owed £20 my my Mutual points - again I site I had been a member of for years and never really used. I have sent my letter to the Woolwich to claim back - hopefully- £1800 in fees and phoned telewest/Virgin and got them to reduce our monthly direct debit by £10, while keeping the same package.

We are now looking at the ultimate in Money Saving act:- selling our house, and buying a cheaper one, and using the equity to pay off all our outstanding debt. The houses we are looking at are the same size, just about 100 miles away from where we are now. We are desperately tidying up so we can get on the market before June 1. So hopefully by the end of the year we will be Debt free/Mortgage Free/Stress free...all thanks to this site!!!

  • Has anyone got any advice for me? I have given myself six months to pay off my debt which with a lot of scrimping and saving I can do. But can anyone think of a way to earn extra cash without taking on a whole new job?

I have an overdraft of £1500, I've just transferred another overdraft of £1250 that I was getting charged £16 a month interest on to a CC and then will transfer that along with my £1000 CC bill to a 0% card. Has anyone got any other tips. I am living back with my parents and paying a nominal sum for rent whilst this is going on.
