Confusion over switching Energy!!

Hello All

I want to switch Energy companies and was just wondering how to work it out.

I have found one Energy Company at £1254 a year but the average kWh usage per unit is quiet high.

I have found another at £1289 a year but the average kWh usage per unit is a lot lower.

Which one would work out better for me to go with the dearer one with the lower kWh usage or the cheaper one with the higher kWh usage.

Sorry it doesn't.

Assuming that we are discussing electricity a kWh is a unit.

Whatever company you buy from you will use the same number of kWh only the price and terms will vary.

Have you been viewing "typical" usage figures from different suppliers? If so ignore them. What matters is what YOU use.

Supplier tariffs are made up of several elements: Service Charge, Cost per Kwh and a whole range of discounts, all of which vary from supplier to supplier

Therefore a tariff that suits one customer becuase of their particular useage, could be a real no, no to another
Check that you have accurate records of your Annual Gas/Elec Kwh consumption and punch them in to several Switch sites, who will filter all the variables when quoteing prices to you

The only figure that matters is the total annual cost-which is what the comp sites tell you. Unit kWh costs are meaningless, because there are so many other variables: 1st tier./2nd tier rates, DD discounts, loyalty bonuses etc.
So the first company you found is cheapest: end of.
