That's mental!!!0 -
Recycling CRTs require expensive environmental processing due to the poisonous screen coating. So IT Recyling companies charge their clients to remove old KIT and getting rid of old CRTs is what they get paid for. It might be worth offering to take some off their hands for free, they've already been paid by the orginal client.0

Feel free to chuck one my way!0 -
Have you seen how much space a 21" CRT will take up on the desk.
And they also weigh a ton.
Thats why they are cheap.
Hey! I wouldn't swap my 21" CRT for anything! (well almost). Certainly a superb quality screen, and still looks the business despite being bulky looking.
Its a Sony Triniton Multiscan E500 - and cost about 700 quid about 5 years ago!!! Was the dogs at the time!
No problem fitting on my desk though - and a nice flat screen with high resolution! To Stooze or Not To Stooze - Theres only one option0 -
I have one so it's the best blaa blaa blaa. Move on crt is dead for PC's (but not for TV yet)0

I ordered the 15" one on sunday night-monday morning and it came today tuesday at 11am, good delivery, well packaged, clean, and it works great, so I am happy with it, as I said earlier, I am knocking out a couple of pc's for my son's two mate's that are going into business, just starting out, so they don't have much money to throw around on pc's, so I thought since I had all these spare part's that are still in good working order, I'd knock a couple up for them, all I needed was an extra monitor, so £14,98 isnt bad for a monitor, and I wouldn't get anything near as much as they are worth on ebay, so problem solved, for them and me....................................................................

At work we sell our old 15" LCD/TFT's to staff for £15.
I used to ditch 15" CRT's in the local paper for £5 each (and 17" ones for £10), even then they often didn't sell.
SO, if you want a CRT monitor on the cheap, check your local paper!0 -
Best place for CRT's is your local freecycle, you'll always be able to pick one up. Even just ask for one, people are upgrading to TFT's all the time.
