Please check with your store before you go and buy Argos cards elsewhere. I asked the guy in Argos and he checked with the supervisor and I was told that could not be done. So some stores will do this while others could refuse too.

Well done cos according to the Argos gift card's T&Cs on the back I read in Tescos this morning, you can't use the gift card in Argos to buy other gift cards. I didn't want to chance it, so good for you !

i would check with argos before you do this ..i only know because at christmas they wouldn't split a £20 card into 2 x £10 for me

Many thank to OP Claire as I managed to buy £100 of goft cards for £75 this afternoon. I got 2 x £20 TKMax, 2 x £20 Pizza Hut and 2 x £10 Claire's. Bit of problem at till so had to wait quite a while but then they realissed that they had just been inputting code as BLACK sso once they added the 25 it went through fine :j

Sorry if i have put incorrect information out there the SA did do a bit of fiddling around to get things to work but i assumed this was to take the discount off. Perhaps it was the gift card for gift card that was a problem. Definitely check with your local store in this case!
