Has anyone heard of the Henley retirement benefit plan?

If they are not registered by the FCA how do they get the consent of the SIPP organiser/administration company, which must be registered, to receive an individual's lump sum?
Scheme registration does not require regulation by the FCA. They set up schemes that are outside of the normal retail financial services regulation and have more in common with occupational pensions. Some even offshore pensions.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
If organisations like Henley Pension Benefits sell pension management services but are not regulated and unsuspecting people transfer their pensions to them, can anyone be held accountable under the regulations?0

Re: Henley retirement benefits scheme. I was told by a Sanderson Clarke representative that my frozen pension would be unlocked and put into a company called Group First. They said I would get 8% return on my £35,000 pension fund. However I recently heard a report on Radio 4's You and Yours saying it is all a scam !! Does anyone know what I should do ??0

Dont fall for the scam and use a local IFA of your choosing.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Have you already given them your money? If yes, you are up S creek w/o a padle perhaps. If No, then dont sign anything, you have had a lucky escape.
Amazing how many find us AFTER they have signed something over to a cold caller.
find us when you are thinking abt it, so we can talk you out of it.0 -
I'm afraid to say they appear to already have my frozen pension, trouble is I've been chasing them for months about getting something in writing and they never get back to me.
Am beginning to feel I've been completely duped.
Can I do anything ????0 -

Report it to Action Fraud and adjust your retirement planning to factor in that you may never see this fund again.
There has been some media coverage recently at how the FCA are not preventing this sort of thing happening. So, you may want to report it to the FCA. It probably wont help but if they get enough people reporting things to them, they may act.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The SIPP companies do hold some level of responsibility. They need to perform their own due diligence on investments and should be refusing things like this.0

hey anyone who, like me, has been taken in by sanderson clarke and the henley retirement benefit scheme and omni trustees, you should now contact timoran capital and speak to mark carter. They have taken over the henley scheme and he is a sound and professional guy. Phone them if you have invested with the henley retirement benefit scheme and fear you may have lost your money. The can be contacted on (text removed by MSE Forum Team)0

mmmm
Timoran Capital was the name of a company dissolved in 2008. There appears to be no record of any other Timoran in the UK in the company lists.
There is a web site http://timorancapital.com. Its contact phone number is as given by the OP. The web site is long on gloss but short on content.
- it refers to their pension scheme having a relationship with HMRC. No mention of any FCA registration. Coincidentally I cant find Timoran Capital on the FCA Register.
- the web site states that they have been administering pensions since 1994. Strange that their web site URL was only created in 2013.
- The guy who registered the URL is (text removed by MSE Forum Team). He was a director of Timoran Capital (dissolved 2008). I cant find him on the FCA register.0
