DWP - No Excuse over ESA 50, fit note

DWP had confirmed that it no excuse for no ESA50 or fit note arrive in time to reach them even the postman haven't been round since last Thursday and the urgently important like ESA50 back in time and fit note could see your benefits stopped.

I checked with my royal mail delivery office as the manager say they are shut due to badly snow since last thursday and no confirmed yet of when is posts resumes.

DWP say no excuse! Sound rather unfair exspecially this weather!

Where do you live? It must be a very remote delivery office to have been shut since last Thursday!

If you post it into a post box, it is treated as if it arrives in the normal course of post.
It doesn't matter if it's not collected.

However - some form of proof of this posting would be wise.

my wife has been told she cannot get another fit note till sept 9th.
her next payment of benefit is due on sept 16th
will this be enough time for the fit note to get to the dwp and be processed?

When does her old note run out?

You can speed up the processing of the fit note by making an appt at your local JCP, where they can fax it through to the processing centre.

you MUST have an appointment to send fit notes

**** also make sure she puts a contact no on the fit note so they can ring them when they have received it and also release any payments due***

You may be worrying over nothing.

If the old note expires on the 9th Sept and her payday is 16th Sept then it should have been extended by DWP to the 16th Sept so she will be paid on the 16th Sept. She has plenty of time to post the new note for next payment on 30 Sept.

If you want to confirm this, you can phone DWP and ask if they extended it, phone on Wednesday as Tuesday is likely to be very busy
